Federico Covre (Treviso, 1977) studied Architecture and Photography at the IUAV University of Venice and the Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar. He graduated in 2007 with a thesis on the work of Bernd and Hilla Becher. Between 2004 and 2011, he was a teaching assistant in photography courses at the Faculties of Design and Arts and of Industrial Design at IUAV.

In 2007, he was selected for the “Atlante Italiano 007. Rischio Paesaggio” award, promoted by MAXXI in Rome and PARC – MiBACT. From 2009 to 2015, he curated Documentary Platform – a visual archive, a research project focused on the contemporary landscape and the social territory of Italy. The project was exhibited in several venues, including MAXXI and MACRO in Rome, Linea di Confine in Rubiera, and LE BAL in Paris.

Since 2015, he has been conducting photographic research on sites and neighborhoods of the Modern Movement across Europe. He has been working as a professional photographer since 2006 and, since 2019, has been teaching in the IUAV Master in Photography at the IUAV University of Venice.

Tra il 2004 e il 2011 collabora alla didattica nei corsi di fotografia presso le facoltà di Design e Arti e di Disegno Industriale dell’Università IUAV.

Nel 2007 viene selezionato per il premio “Atlante Italiano 007. Rischio Paesaggio”, promosso dal MAXXI di Roma e dal PARC – MiBACT. Tra il 2009 e il 2015 cura Documentary Platform – a visual archive, un progetto di ricerca dedicato al paesaggio contemporaneo e al territorio sociale italiano. Il progetto è stato presentato in diverse sedi, tra cui il MAXXI e il MACRO di Roma, Linea di Confine a Rubiera e LE BAL a Parigi.

Dal 2015 porta avanti una ricerca fotografica sui siti e i quartieri del Movimento Moderno in Europa. È fotografo professionista dal 2006 e, dal 2019, docente al Master IUAV in Photography presso l’Università IUAV di Venezia.
